Collecting is the pinnacle of fandom
Dan Romero is the co-founder and CEO of Farcaster, the leading web3 social network
(aka posts) are auctioned on Farcaster as 1-of-1 NFTs
price is the minimum price for an NFT of a given collection
Dan Romero is the visionary co-founder of Farcaster. He previously was an early Coinbase employee.
The collection will be distributed in 3 ways:
5,000 of the top accounts that DWR has interacted with are each sent 1 cast
5,700 casts are listed for sale at $20 USDC (Funds go directly to DWR)
1,000 remaining are retained by team
For fans who really resonate with a piece of content, they can choose to demonstrate their excitement and put their money where their mouth is.
To collect historical casts, you had to manually scroll all the way back down the feed, which was quite cumbersome. Only a few people had enough thumb strength to pull this off, and consequently initial sales data was small but encouraging (~$24k of volume).
There was hints that the feeling of owning a post was intoxicating - instead of just being able to "like", you can publicly signal ownership of a given cast.
We wanted more people to feel the power of collecting, so we took the liberty of mining 12,000+ of DWR's historical casts which were lost in a deep scroll. We've wrapped them in a new ERC-721 contract which has extensive trait data, giving holders the ability to see how rare the different casts they've secured are.
We don't want to hoard them, and believe they are best kept in the hands of both the Farcaster and Ethereum community.
The collection contains 12,200+ unique NFTs representing Dan's historical casts.
We're focused on Dan's collection for now, but may explore other prominent Farcaster accounts in the future.
Holders can publicly signal ownership and demonstrate their connection to specific pieces of content.
We're focused on distribution and building tools for the community to explore and trade the collection.
